What do we do as Believers in a world that seems to be falling apart?

We have all been affected in one way or another by Covid-19. In the past year I have read of Believers in position of authority leave their faith, I have seen Believers lose friendships over political issues, I have seen Believers debating over masks, the Covid-19 vaccine and the list goes on and on. It grieves me to see God’s children behaving in such a manner. It grieves me to see Pastors and Believers worldwide defying governments and risking people’s lives by congregating. It states in the bible.

1 Peter 2:13-17 (New Living Translation)

Respecting People in Authority

13 For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, 14 or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.

15 It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. 16 For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so d not use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. 17 Respect everyone, and love the family of believers.[a] Fear God, and respect the king.

If we look at Jesus in the Bible, He never spoke against the Roman Empire or its governance. In Mark 12:17 Jesus said: "Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." And they were amazed at him.”

He was extremely upset with the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the Scribes, but His mission was ultimately that of love. He showed compassion and love. Many are fearful, anxious, not knowing what tomorrow will bring. We have new variant mutations of the virus and many are dying around us, but God knew that this would happen before creation. There is a reason for all things. Please remember that we are only passing through, we are but foreigners to this world. One thing is important. Remember your first love, Jesus. Remember the peace that came upon you when you accepted Him in your heart. He can fill you with that peace everyday. You can be all by yourself and not feel alone, because the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God is in you. We need to stay focus on our first love which is Jesus Christ. We are His light in us to the world. Let us project love, compassion, wisdom in all that we say or do. The love, the presence of God within us can break all strongholds of the enemy. Let us be united in Love through the Holy Spirit.

I pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit unto each of you in the name of Jesus. Be filled with God’s love, peace and joy!
